Health Insurance Unchanged for Houghton City Employees

The city of Houghton has decided to opt out and continue its current practice in regards to how it pays for health insurance for its employees. City Manager Eric Waara says this has been the preferred choice for the city for quite some time.

The other options were to pay up to 80% of the health insurance cost or set a “hard cap” and pay up to that dollar amount.
