Hancock Streetscape Project Meeting Tonight

The Michigan Department of Transportation and the City of Hancock will hold a public information meeting tonight for this summer’s project to reconstruct parts of US-41 in downtown Hancock.

The meeting will be held at the First United Methodist Church starting at 6pm.

All interested residents are invited to attend.

MDOT’s project will focus mainly on reconstructing Reservation and Quincy streets in Hancock to start with and will work on Front Street and the M-26 ramp afterwards.

Work includes removing and replacing the existing roadway, with drainage improvements.

Streetscape work includes decorative street lighting, curb bump-outs and landscape plantings.

The City of Hancock will be performing water main and sanitary sewer improvements in addition to MDOT’s work.

The work is scheduled to begin this month and be completed in July 2017.
