Hancock Police Invites Residents to Coffee with a Cop

Establishing and building a relationship between residents and local law enforcement can be difficult. Especially if police departments aren’t able to sit and talk with members of the community. Tomorrow the city of Hancock‘s police department will take some time to sit and chat with area residents, and continue to build its relationship with the area.

“Sometimes they don’t get to meet everybody, cause some of the officers might be on night shift. And this way they’ll, and we’ll eventually do three of them. But they’ll eventually get to meet all of the officers and ask questions. It can be work related, on a personal level, its just to be more in touch with the community.” – Tami Sleeman, Chief of Police, Hancock Police Department

The Coffee with a Cop event is a great chance to meet the department’s new officers on duty, chat with police chief Tami Sleeman about topics like public safety, or just enjoy a conversation. Those attending Coffee with a Cop with the Hancock police department will get a free small coffee from Sunshine Books and coffee. Kids attending the event will get a free small ice cream. Coffee with a Cop will begin at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon at Sunshine Books and Coffee in Hancock. The event will run until 630 p.m.
