Hancock Man Going To Prison For Domestic Violence

A Hancock man is headed to prison for felony Domestic Violence.

41-year-old Jeremy Looper was sentenced in Houghton County Circuit Court Wednesday to two to seven and a half years in prison.

Looper had pled “No Contest” to the charge as part of a plea agreement.

The original charges of 1st Degree Home Invasion and Assault with a Deadly Weapon were dismissed.

The charges stem from an incident in June when police say Looper attacked a Lake Linden woman with a knife at her apartment.

Because of his past criminal record…Looper received a tougher sentence.

He was credited for 107 days time served.
