Hancock Man Charged With Attempted Murder For Shooting Victim With Bow And Arrow

It is an unusual case, a Hancock man is accused of shooting someone with a bow and arrow.

Walters, James58-year-old James Delmart Walters, Junior was charged with Attempted Murder in 97th District Court.

He faces up to Life in prison if convicted.

Police say Walters shot a 56-year-old man in the shoulder following an argument on Saturday at a residence on Summit Street in Hancock.

On bond, the prosecutor said Walters had previously served prison time for assault with a dangerous weapon and she believed him to be a danger to the community.

Bond was set at $500,000 cash and he is currently lodged in the Houghton County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 2nd.
