Editor’s Note: The Hancock Dog Park grand opening is next Tuesday.
Hancock’s dog park will have a grand opening next Tuesday. Last year the city was able to raise more than enough funds for their estimated construction cost, through a series of crowd funding, and grants with Michigan Economic Development Corporation. During the city’s crowd funding campaign they unfortunately fell short in the Petsafe Bark for Your Park contest. Hancock expressed gratitude for those that donated to the campaign, with gifts for different levels of donations. In August the city signed a 50 year lease on one acre lot near the Maasto Hiihto trailhead. Securing the dog park for the community for many years. Late last year Hancock held a soft opening of the dog park for the snow loving pups in November. The grand opening of the dog park will start at 5:15 next Tuesday.
