Hancock Councilman Running For State Representative

State Representative Scott Dianda has a challenger for his third term in the House.

Republican Greg Markkanen filed to run against Dianda for the 110th District.

Markkanen is also on the Hancock City Council.

A 20 year Hancock resident, he is a civics, history and geography teacher in the Baraga School District.

In a press release, Markkanen says he is going to focus on the economy of the district.

Baraga School Teacher announces that he is a candidate for Michigan’s 11Oth house seat.

20 year resident of Hancock, Greg Markkanen, stated in his announcement to run for the Werstern U.P. seat that he is going to focus on the economy of the district.

Markkanen is a civics, history and greography teacher in the Baraga School District.

Markkanen vows to work hard to help the children in this district stay in, what he calls, ‘God’s Country.’

Markkanen has been a Sunday School teacher and drove the church bus for Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

He is an avid hunter, fisherman, cross country and downhill skier, and bicyclist.

Markkanen also stated in his announcement to run that, as an Endowment Life Member of the NRA, he will fight to protect the 2nd Amendment.

Markkanen currently serves on the Hancock City Council, is married and has two children.
