Groups Band To Ban Powdered Alcohol

State lawmakers will join police, health professionals and businesses at the Capitol Tuesday to call on the legislature to ban powdered alcohol.

Grand Ledge Republican, Senator Rick Jones is sponsoring legislation to ban powdered alcohol, also called Palchohol, in Michigan. He says alcohol is a poison and a powdered version of it will just cause problems.

Jones says there are already reports of kids snorting alcohol and putting it on pizza. He says it’s a disaster waiting to happen and he wants to keep it out of the state.

The federal government ok’d powdered alcohol last year, at least six states have since banned it.
