The top Democrat in the Michigan House is the first state lawmaker to publicly call on the governor to resign over the Flint water crisis.
House Democratic Leader Tim Greimel, D-Auburn Hills, says Rick Snyder should resign because of what he did and didn’t do about the Flint water crisis.
The governor says he first learned of lead contaminating Flint’s drinking water in October of 2015.
Greimel says if Snyder didn’t know about the lead contamination before then he may go down as the worst manager in state history.
Emails released by the governor’s office last week show top aides had been flagged on problems with Flint’s water in late 2014 and there were even pleas within the administration to switch back to Detroit’s water system months after the city switched the source for its drinking water.
