Governor Rick Snyder’s approval rating is up in the most recent Michigan State University State of the State survey.
The survey conducted by the MSU’s Institute for Public Policy and Social Research found the governor’s approval rating at nearly 42-percent.
That’s up six-percent from the previous survey.
However, survey director Charles Ballard says it’s important to note the poll was conducted before the Flint water crisis grabbed state and national attention.
He says he’d be surprised if Snyder’s numbers remained that high in their next survey, which is already underway.
Meanwhile, President Barack Obama’s numbers remain steady at 39-percent approval, down just one point from the last survey.
The survey of 972 Michigan adults was conducted between October 26th and December 23rd.
It has a margin of error of about three percent.
