Governor Snyder Rebukes Donald Trump's Comments on Muslims

Governor Rick Snyder says Donald Trump’s recent comments about Muslims were inappropriate.

Donald TrumpTrump, the leading GOP presidential candidate, recently told a crowd in South Carolina he was calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the U.S.

But Snyder, a fellow Republican, isn’t on board with the real-estate mogul’s comments.

Snyder says Trump’s words were completely inappropriate and don’t represent the spirit of America.

The governor recently called for suspending efforts to bring Syrian refugees to Michigan pending review of the vetting process, but Snyder says that’s not the same as what Trump has called for.

The governor says he’s always been welcoming of immigrants.
