Governor Snyder Reacts To NAACP Call For Protests

Rick Snyder FeatureGovernor Rick Snyder is reacting to the NAACP’s call for protests if he doesn’t have a plan to replace water pipes in Flint in 30 days.

NAACP National President Cornell Brooks says the civil rights organization will invite people to come to Flint in a show of civil disobedience if the governor doesn’t present a plan to replace the city’s pipes by the deadline.

Governor Snyder says he’s looking for solutions, noting that an infrastructure study is already underway to find the high priority areas to replace pipes.

He says when Washington D.C. had a lead crisis, they reacted quickly to dig up the pipes which resulted in increasing lead risk.

The NAACP has also called for the repeal of Michigan’s emergency management law.
