A bill aimed at helping disabled hunters in Michigan to get outdoors has been signed by the governor.
The legislation allows those with mobility issues and have certain permits to hunt from a personal mobility device, like an electric wheelchair or mobility scooter.
Supporters of the legislation say it will ensure the state’s not keeping its disabled residents from getting outdoors.
The legislation also changes the safety zone that prevents bow hunting and trapping 150 yards from a structure.
But the safety zone will not change for firearms hunters.
