Governor Snyder has declared an energy emergency for the next week and a half–amid worries about a potential gasoline shortage this holiday weekend. The declaration will loosen fuel transportation restrictions by letting drivers spend more hours behind the wheel. This follows the shutdown of a fuel pipeline in Wisconsin and an unplanned outage of Detroit’s Marathon refinery. Gas prices have been up over the past week, ahead of the busy Memorial Day weekend.
