The state senator representing Flint wants the governor to be straight with lawmakers on a congressional panel holding a hearing on the Flint water crisis.
Senate Democratic Leader Jim Ananich says the governor should steer clear of talking points and answer questions truthfully.
Ananich says Rick Snyder owes at least that to people in Flint.
It’s the first time Snyder will testify, under oath, on Flint’s lead contaminated drinking water.
The head of the EPA, Gina McCarthy, will also appear before the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Today’s hearing marks the third hearing the committee has held on the issue and the second hearing this week.
On Tuesday Flint’s former mayor, former emergency manager and a former EPA regional administrator all appeared before the panel.
