Gas Prices Take A Nosedive

Gas prices across Michigan have tumbled an average of 32-cents per gallon this week, based on a new survey from AAA Michigan.

The Auto Club’s latest fuel gauge survey shows Michigan’s current statewide average is now at $2.52 per gallon. That’s also $1.08 less than this same time last year.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA the lowest average price is in the Marquette area at $2.41 per gallon.

The highest average price is in the Lansing-East Lansing area where its $2.61 per gallon.

The Auto Club says the sharp decline is due to the restarting of the BP oil refinery in Whiting, Indiana.
