Monday is National HIV Testing Day and local residents are encouraged to get tested.
The Western U.P. Health Department is offering free HIV testing on Monday in Hancock, Bessemer and Ontonagon and Tuesday in L’Anse.
The Center for Disease Control says if you are between 13 and 64 years old and sexually active, pregnant or want to become pregnant, or share needles, you should get tested.
You’ll get your results in about 20 minutes and the tests are confidential and anonymous.
