Four Injured In Crash In Laird Township

Four people were injured in a crash in Laird Township Saturday afternoon.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Ann Arbor man was heading east on M-38 shortly after 3pm.

Near the intersection of North Laird Heights Road, the driver reportedly lost control as he went onto the shoulder of the road and over corrected which then caused the vehicle to strike a parked truck in a yard nearby.

Both vehicles were severely damaged.

The driver sustained minor scrapes and bruises but his three passengers were taken to Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

Two were treated and released and the third was taken to Marquette General.

Her condition has not been reported.

The Sheriff’s Department says all four occupants were wearing their seatbelts and that speed and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
