Flum Bound Over To Circuit Court

The case against a Copper City man involved in a standoff with police last week is moving to Houghton County Circuit Court.

64-year-old Jerome Flum was bound over to Circuit Court at his probable cause hearing on Wednesday.

The charges stem from an incident in which Flum allegedly threatened a public works employee who visited his house.

Police took Flum into custody after a 12-hour standoff in which he refused to leave his home while reportedly making threatening statements toward law enforcement.

Flum is charged with making threats of terrorism, three counts of assaulting a utility company employee, and two counts of malicious use of a telephone.

He will be arraigned in Circuit Court May 18th.
