Flu season is here–though if you are one of the ones suffering already, you don’t need to be reminded of that.
The Western U.P. Health Department, U.P. Health System—Portage and Aspirus Keweenaw will provide flu shots at a fast, convenient vaccination clinic this Saturday from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Hancock High School Gymnasium.
Annual flu shots are recommended for persons six months and older, especially for those at greater risk of flu-related complications, including young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with chronic diseases.
Flu shots will cost $30 per person, with no charge to clients who present a current Medicare, Medicaid, Healthy Michigan, or Healthy Kids card.
Many children qualify for free or reduced rates through the Vaccines for Children program.
Drive thru service will be available for those with limited mobility.
