A second round of water tap tests in Flint show nine-percent of homes exceed the federally safe limit for lead.
Results from 423 of the nearly 600 sentinel sites in Flint show that more than 91-percent of samples are at or below 15 parts per billion, which is the federal limit before corrective action must be taken.
Governor Rick Snyder says there still a lot of work to do and they won’t be satisfied with the water until they’ve seen many tests to ensure the water is truly safe to drink.
Sentinel sites are designated by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in cooperation with Flint residents.
Data from the sites is being collected over the next six weeks.
