Fishing Deadlines Near

If you’re a fisherman, the next couple of days are important. Ice fishing shanties must be removed from all Upper Peninsula waters by the end of tomorrow. Shanties can be brought back onto the ice after tomorrow, but must be removed at the end of each day. Tomorrow is also the final day you can use your 2014 fishing license. The new license season begins on Wednesday. Fishing licenses are good for all species. Seasonal permits cost $26.00 for residents, $68.00 for non-residents, and $11.00 for those aged 65 and older. Fish-hunt combination licenses are also available. Licenses can be purchased from local outlets, or online.
