Bernard Fish took the stand Thursday as his trial continues in Baraga County Circuit Court. Fish took the stand for most of the afternoon, and Baraga County court officials do not expect closing arguments until Friday morning. Bernard Fish is accused of robbing two men at gunpoint at their home last year while pretending to be a U.S. Marshal. He is facing a number of charges, including extortion and impersonating a peace officer. Fish has a long criminal record, including a federal bank robbery conviction for holding up a bank in Green Bay with a pellet gun in 1992. The case is expected to go to the jury at some point later today. Due to the extent of the trial, the Rice Lake meeting schedule for 1 o’clock this afternoon has been canceled.
