On the same day a congressional panel will hold its second hearing into the Flint water crisis, a state legislative panel will hold its first hearing.
State Senator Jim Stamas, R-Midland, is chairman of the panel, which is made up of lawmakers from both the Michigan House and Michigan Senate.
He says state lawmakers will hear from Michigan’s auditor general next Wednesday, who will outline the findings of an audit of the Department of Environmental Quality’s drinking water division, which was released last week.
Stamas says a hearing will be held in Flint although no date has been set yet.
Meanwhile, on Capitol Hill, a former EPA administrator and Flint’s former emergency manager and mayor will testify before the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee next Wednesday too.
