First African-American to Serve in the U.S. Marine Corps Honored

A World War 2 veteran is honored with a Congressional Gold Medal.

92-year-old John Willie Jordan served during World War 2 and was among the first African Americans to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Jordan’s son Tracey sat beside his sister as their dad was honored for his service.

Corporal Jordan trained at Camp Montford Point in North Carolina.
