Finlandia University baccalaureate and commencement activities for the class of 2016 are scheduled for Sunday, May 1, on the university’s campus in Hancock.
Exercises for Graduation Day 2016 will begin Sunday morning at 10 a.m. with the Baccalaureate Worship Service at the Chapel of St. Matthew, and conclude with the Commencement Exercises at 1:30 p.m. at Paavo Nurmi Center.
Finlandia University, founded in 1896 as Suomi College, recognized its first group of graduates in 1904 with 12 students earning diplomas. In the coming weeks, Finlandia University will announce this year’s class representative, graduation speaker and president’s distinguished service award recipient.
