Finlandia adds on-line dual enrollment options

Beginning this fall Finlandia University will be offering courses online specifically for high school students interested in dual enrollment.

“We saw a great need in the Upper Peninsula for students to have dual enrollment options, and we’re happy to be able to fill that niche,” Director of Admissions Travis Hanson said. “The classes are open now, and we’re more than happy to help students enroll in them.”

Courses currently available for this fall are listed below:

  • ENG 103 – College English I (3) – Designed to improve the student’s reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, and to give the student a broad understanding of culture and society. Emphasis is on essay writing and critical analysis of non-fiction and literary works.
  • PSY 101 – Introductory Psychology (3) – Introduction to the study of human behavior and cognitive processes. Major topics typically include biological foundations, life-span development, learning, personality, perception, memory, states of consciousness, stress, and social psychology.

These two courses are being offered along with a plethora of options for high school students in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula who are interested in taking classes in Finlandia’s traditional college atmosphere.
