With the new school year underway, Dollar Bay students have a new playground structure to explore. In May the Dollar Bay Elementary School installed a Netplex play structure with two large slides added to the play area’s existing structures. Netplex play structure pads include a special play turf safe for kids, installed at the octoball pit and under the swing set. With school getting started, the district has the final phases of the playground improvement project getting started too. The new playground upgrades are brought to the school in part by efforts from 5th-grade teacher Carrie Meneguzzo, the Parent Teacher Organization, the school board, and the administration, along with funds from the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation grant. The grant funds were used for new concrete on the basketball court. After work has finished the school invites the community to check out the playground improvement on their own time. Those interested in learning more about the playground improvements at Dollar Bay schools can find more details here.
