Film Incentives About To Fade To Black

The Michigan House and Senate have dropped the hammer on the state’s film incentive program, voting to stop funding it altogether.

Senate Minority Leader Jim Ananich says the legislation now makes the state’s Film Office barely serviceable.

It will be up to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to fund the Film Office and whoever remains on staff moving forward.

The bill now awaits the governor’s signature.
