Anyone interested in taking part in the Festival Ruska tour of Finnish-American sites needs to reserve their seat no later than Monday, September 21.
The tour will take participants via bus to Hanka Homestead and the former Finnish fishing village at Portage Entry. From there, tour patrons will enjoy a short boat ride across the Portage Canal to Jacobsville, where they’ll get to visit the historic Jacobsville Chapel. Everyone will then take a boat back across the canal, for the conclusion of the tour.
This one-of-a-kind outing includes a hearty lunch, as well as admission to all of the sites. Seats are $50 per person, and a minimum of 25 participants are necessary to make the tour possible.
