Three children were pronounced dead at the scene following a two-vehicle collision in Dagget Township Monday evening. Menominee County Sheriff’s deputies say the incident occurred at 6 p.m. on US-41 between Belgiumtown Road and County Road 358. 40-year-old Susan Meade was driving her minivan when she lost control of the vehicle on the poor road conditions. Police say she ended up in the path of a semi truck, which struck the van on the side. Meade’s children ages 14, 12 and 11 were killed in the collision. Meade was transported to Bay Area Medical Center by ambulance and later transferred to Green Bay SVH for evaluation and treatment of multiple traumatic injuries. The driver of the semi was unhurt. The crash remains under investigation, with assistance from Accident Investigators from the Michigan State Police.
