Fatal Accident in Baraga County

A fatal accident in Baraga County has taken the life of a high school P.E. Instructor. 56-year-old Matthew Davidson was traveling east early Sunday morning in a Ford F-150 truck on US-41 near Tioga Creek in Covington Township when it lost control and flipped into a ditch. Davidson was found unresponsive by a passerby. Davidson was later pronounced dead as a result of the crash. Police say he apparently lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line, and struck a snow bank. Davidson was a physical education instructor at Republic-Michigamme Schools as well as the head coach for the girls basketball team.
