Expired & Unwanted Prescription Drug Drop Offs Scheduled

The Superior Watershed Partnership is teaming up with a number of churches across the Upper Peninsula to collect expired and unwanted prescription drugs later this month.

The “Protect The Great Lakes” drop-off date is set for April 25th, and there are drop-off points in all 15 U-P counties.

This is the third time that the Partnership has teamed up with 200 “Earth Keeper” churches to do this, and it is being done in celebration of Earth Day. They are also collecting unneeded personal care products that contain “microbeads”, which are small pieces of plastic that are not biodegradable.

The goal is to keep all of these items out of our ground water. You can turn them in for free, instead of flushing them down the toilet.
