Escaped Chippewa County Suspect Could Be Heading to Copper Country

An accused criminal has escaped from custody in Chippewa County, and could be headed to our area. Jeremy Ross Marjamaa had been arrested on drug and forgery charges. Deputies from the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department say he cut his tether on Sunday, and apparently got a ride from an older couple. It’s not known if the couple knowingly assisted in the escape. Marjamaa is from our area, and officials speculate that he might return here. If you have any information about Marjamaa’s whereabouts, call 9-1-1.
