June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month. Elder Abuse Awareness Workshops are being offered all over the U.P. Elder abuse is a problem throughout all communities. Those involved may not realize their behaviors are abusive or may by overwhelmed and feel powerless to change. Likewise, the person being abused may be afraid to confront the abusive person for fear of retaliation, loss of a caregiver or being placed in a long term care facility.
The Elder Abuse Workshop will be one hour, providing information and tools to identify and report elder Abuse, neglect, and exploitation of seniors. Learn How, What, and Where to report situations of suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
