Eight new recall petitions against Governor Snyder have been filed with the Secretary of State’s office.
Seven of the petitions come from Detroit Pastor Angelo Brown, who has been trying to recall the governor for his handling of the Flint water crisis.
All of Brown’s previous attempts failed to get past the state Board of Canvassers.
Another petition comes from Flint resident Quincy Murphy who is seeking the recall for the governor failing to protect the health and safety of Flint citizens.
On Thursday, the canvassers approved recall language against state Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof and Senator Wayne Schmidt for their votes to increase driver registration fees and gas taxes to help pay for a roads funding plan.
