Officials with the Eagle Mine say the mine is now operating and will be ramping up to full production by mid-2015. In a statement released Monday, Lundin Mining says ore from the Eagle Mine is being processed into separate nickel and copper concentrates at the Humboldt Mill and loaded into covered railcars. Trains and switching cars are now leaving the mill on a regular basis. The company has invested roughly $7 million to reestablish rail in Humboldt Township, and approximately four miles of track and rail crossings are now active. Lundin officials say they expect to have the mine at full operation by the second quarter of next year.
