E-Cigarette Sale To Minors Ban Moves To House

A measure making it illegal to sell e-cigarettes to minors is on the way to the Michigan House.

The bill, sponsored by State Senator Rick Jones, cleared the Senate Wednesday. However the legislation’s fate, if it passes the House, is up in the air.

Governor Rick Snyder wants e-cigarettes classified as a tobacco product – which means they could be taxed like a tobacco product – which is a deal-breaker for Jones.

He likens them to a nicotine patch or nicotine gum, not a cigarette.

The bill passed unanimously out of the Senate.
