Court proceedings for six of the 17 people involved in a large drug bust in Baraga County continued this week in 97th District Court. 32-year-old Corey Haataja of L’Anse, 43-year-old Angela Salbashian of L’Anse and 52-year-old Mark Lahti of Baraga appeared for their preliminary examinations yesterday on charges involving various kinds of narcotics. Haataja, Salbashian and Lahti were bound over to Circuit Court. They will be arraigned there on February 3rd. Each count carries a maximum penalty of 20 years and a $25,000 fine. 55-year-old Brenda Maki of Nisula, 41-year-old Thomas Bianco of Baraga and 73-year-old Warren Selden of Pelkie each waived their 14 day preliminary rule. Their court dates were adjourned until February 3rd, when they will have another preliminary hearing. Their charges also involved the delivery or manufacture of various narcotics as well.
