The New Beginnings Angel Mission in Calumet accepts donations of clothes and household items, then offers them free to shoppers who otherwise couldn’t afford them.
They are currently doing the same for back to school shoppers with their backpack program.
With the new school year coming, store co-director Terry Bazin says many families find it hard to come up with the money for the supplies their children will need.
Supplies are desperately needed, including the backpacks as well as the items that will go inside.
The Angel Mission really does need your help. They have over 200 families registered for their backpack program. They will accept either school supplies or cash donations.
Donations will be accepted through Saturday.
Donations may be brought to the store in Calumet Store Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 10:00 and 3:00, and Fridays from 10:00 until 6:00. You can view their Facebook page here.
