The Department of Natural Resources is taking applications for the new Wildlife Habitat Grant Program, funded through hunting and fishing license fees. Grants are available for programs that manage wildlife habitat or increase public participation in wildlife-related recreation, including hunting, fishing and trapping. Grants for 2014 range from $15,000 to $650,000, the total grant pool available. Grant applications are due March 1 and are posted on the DNR website. Grant awards are scheduled to be announced April 1.
