Dianda Proposes Ban On Powdered Alcohol

State Representative Scott Dianda wants to ban powdered alcohol in Michigan.

Dianda introduced a bill Wednesday to make the sale, distribution and possession of powdered alcohol illegal.

Powdered alcohol, which is marketed as Palcohol, is sold in 4×6 packages and creates an alcoholic drink when mixed with water.

Dianda says the packet that looks a lot like Kool-Aid is a cynical attempt to target young people.

He says if we don’t ban the product it could undermine efforts to teach young adults about responsible alcohol use and pose a real danger to kids.
