Crews Removing Lift Bridge’s Old Motors

More work is scheduled for the Portage Lake Lift Bridge tonight. Starting at 10 pm and until 5:15 am crews will shut down the both inside lanes. A series of 10 minute shut downs will start after 10 pm, and there will be one to two 25 minute shut downs after 12:15 am. Both lanes will reopen tomorrow morning after work. The same closure schedule will occur tomorrow night as well. Crews are removing both the old lift motors and the lower buffers. This work is a part of the maintenance and repair project that began last summer.
