Copper Shores Community Health Foundation and Michigan Technological University team up to support victims of sexual assault. Next Thursday Copper Shores Victim Support and Michigan Tech will host the Bracelets for Survivors event on Walker Lawn near campus. The event is open to students, faculty, and residents who want to help the foundation create survivor bracelets for the Copper Shores Child Advocacy Center. Throughout the year the foundation creates bracelets for victims of sexual assault as a reminder of the community that stands with victims and supports healing. Each bracelet symbolizes support that victim advocates can provide to victims who may suffer from anxiety or stress after an assault. The free-flowing event allows participants to craft bracelets in silent reflection or engage with Copper Shores professionals and victim advocates on topics related to victim advocacy and challenges related to sexual assault. The Hope Bracelets for Survivors event with the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation and Michigan Technological University will begin at 2:30 pm next Thursday on Walker Lawn. Those interested in learning more about the event can find more details at here.
