Copper Shores Outreach and Education and Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds are partnering to bring a suicide prevention program to the community. Next Wednesday the two groups will host a free suicide prevention training program at the Ojibwa Community Library in Baraga. QPR training or Question Persuade and Refer, trains individuals how to recognize warning signs of a suicide crisis, and how to guide someone toward help. The trainers ask people to become gatekeepers by recognizing a crisis and working to help. Copper Shores does ask participants interested in attending the training to pre-register as there are a limited number of seats available. Those interested in attending the program should contact Copper Shores Outreach and Education to register for the event by phone or email. Find more information about the training here.
