Two years ago Copper Shores visited Chassell, and last year the foundation moved the fun to L’Anse. But in 2024 the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation will travel a little further north to Ahmeek for this summer’s third annual community-wide picnic. This summer the foundation plans to set up its day full of fun at Gabriel Chopper Park in Ahmeek near at the end of July.
Each summer’s community picnic helps to highlight community efforts and foundation funding projects in the area. Such as over the past 10 years Copper Shores has worked with non-profit groups based in Ahmeek, supported the Ahmeek fire department with equipment grants, and helped fund projects to improve the Gabriel Chopp Park grounds. During the picnic the community to stop by and enjoy a meal, join activities games, and raffle drawings, as well as meet and learn about the work done by local non-profits in the region. The Copper Shores community picnic in 2024 will take place in Ahmeek on July 28th.
