A Norway man arrested in a shooting that injured two Michigan State Police troopers in February has been ordered to undergo a competency exam to see if he is able to stand trial.
49-year-old Richard Goodreau is charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct, assault with intent to murder, malicious destruction of police property and a felony firearm charge. He faces life in prison.
State Police at the Iron Mountain Post say the officers were attempting to serve a warrant at Goodreau’s home at the time of the shooting. The troopers were fired upon after entering the home.
