Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is calling for immediate action by the federal government to fix Flint’s lead-contaminated water crisis.
Taking a break from regular campaigning in New Hampshire Sunday, Clinton visited Flint and called what’s happened in the city “immoral,” adding clean water is “not optional” and “not a luxury.”
She has been in talks with Michigan’s congressional delegation to get a measure passed to spend at least 200-million dollars in federal money on fixing the problems.
The bill has stalled in the U.S. Senate, as Michigan’s Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters have halted passage of an energy bill because it didn’t include money for Flint.
