Class Action Lawsuit Against GM

A new class action suit has been filed against General Motors in connection with an ignition switch problem that has led to dozens of crashes and at least 12 deaths. The lawsuit filed Monday includes stories from 13-plaintiffs who all outline how the faulty switch caused them to lose control of their cars. Attorneys claim not only did GM know the switches were faulty but also knew the position was problematic. Also, the family of a 32-year-old Alabama woman who died in a 2013 accident in her 2006 Chevy Cobalt have sued GM in a product liability and wrongful death case in Alabama. The lawsuit says the ignition switch failure caused the mother of two to lose control of the vehicle and collide with an 18-wheel log truck. GM has recalled one-point-six-million vehicles because of the problem and CEO Mary Barra is scheduled to testify for two days in Washington, DC as part of a federal investigation into the issue.
