Michigan’s attorney general has filed suit against a water company and engineering firm, accusing them of causing and worsening Flint’s water crisis.
Schuette says Veolia and Lockwood, Andrews & Newman were charged with a public nuisance and professional negligence. Veolia also charged with fraud.
He says Veolia, a French company, was hired in 2015 to address the city’s water quality.
Schuette alleges the company assured everyone the water was safe.
Schuette says the Texas firm LAN was hired to upgrade and help operate Flint’s water treatment plant — and botched the job.
